'SHOWREEL' MAGAZINE COVER
This is my final magazine front cover, with some significant changes to the original first draft. The most dramatic and obvious changes would be the colour scheme and also the layout. In comparison to my first draft, the anchorage text to the main image is more evident and stands out more to the audience. Changing the colour to yellow instead of red was a bold move, but I think this works better as it moves away from just a pure horror cover to a more commercial and vibrant scene. There is also a much better layout of the stories on the left of the cover. The transparent box idea has continued into this final draft, but only to outline the subheadings rather than the whole story. There is also the added '+' signs which helps tie the whole magazine cover together and create a flowing balance throughout the piece. The puff was changed to a more appropriate prize and in a better position, and well as the barcode.
'FIGURE' FILM POSTER
For my final film poster, I didn't change much. However, I felt that the layout of the credits at the bottom of the poster needed to be more central and circular shaped. There also needed to be a date at the bottom which my first draft was missing. I really liked the gradient layer in the original, however I felt like that black space was too overpowering and needed something to fill it. Therefore, I used a ruler in photoshop to make all the text line up on the right-hand side of the poster. This included the tagline. By using quotes from 'famous' magazines and newspapers, I then conformed to more general film posters.
